The purpose of growing as a human being must be to look at and listen to the whole human condition with increased understanding and compassion, and, in the case of the artist, to shed an ever brighter light…

from Kristin Linklater’s book, Thoughts on Theatre, Therapy and the Art of Voice

So, I’m gonna do something new. Well, new for me.

And keep in mind this may be an epic failure, so………………..

Notice all the “dots” after the above line as I already trail off in my thoughts.

Strong start Shelton!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what makes La Salle theater special.

[Hint – All of you]

…AAAANNNNDDDD I’ve been thinking about how to share with everyone, what we do here. What we are about. Our foundation, the vision, what we are striving for as a community and it was suggested, rather strongly to me, that maybe…just maybe I should type out some of it.

I don’t know if I’m the best candidate for that…as writing isn’t necessarily my forte…still…

It’s important.

It’s important for people to know who we are, what we are about and why La Salle theater is…in my opinion, one of the most incredible places in the world.

So over the course of this year I’ll share stories, anonymous, of course and hopefully funny. As well as anecdotes, quotes, vlogs, links and for those who can stomach reading it…my philosophy on all of this.

Feel free to respond! Feel free to interact. Share with others…seriously. La Salle theater isn’t just for us, it’s for everyone!

PS – You won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t read any of this.

PPS – I miss all of you.

PPSS – I don’t actually know the sequences of the “P’s” and the “S’s” after PPS. Anyone help me out???
